About YBG
The Guernsey Young Business Group is all about making connections. Formed nearly 50 years ago by the Chamber of Commerce, our primary aim has always been to allow the younger, or young at heart, members of Guernsey’s business community to meet and network in an informal setting.
YBG has members from every background covering many business sectors, including the retail, hospitality, media, advertising, commercial, IT, legal and finance sectors. It meets on the first Tuesday of every month, holding a lunch or dinner club which provides members with an opportunity to chat informally over a meal, make new business connections and friends, and enjoy a talk by a topical speaker.
In addition to the monthly lunch or dinner clubs, YBG gets involved in a number of other activities focused around Guernsey business, the community and socialising. These include administering and judging the Bill Green Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit, undertaking projects such as the annual Business Trends Survey and updating the Guernsey “Guide to Buying a Home”, as well as the support which YBG provides every year in putting up and taking down the Christmas Lights in St Peter Port and organising “switch-on” day.
