The Young Business Group is a non-profit organisation providing networking opportunities for members through monthly events and business and community projects.

YBG has members from every background covering many business sectors, including the retail, hospitality, media, advertising, commercial, IT, legal and finance sectors. It meets on the first Thursday of every month, holding a lunch or dinner club which provides members with an opportunity to chat informally over a meal, make new business connections and friends and enjoy a talk by a topical speaker.

YBG is a dynamic group which always has something going on! If you want to be part of this group or find out more please contact myself, our Membership Secretary or download the membership forms here on the website.

What we do

The main focus of YBG’s regular activity is the monthly lunch or dinner club which gives a chance for informal discussion before and during a meal followed by a presentation from a topical speaker. In addition YBG organise a number of events including an annual trip to Herm, a quiz and a biennial ball.

As well as the socially focussed events organised by the group, YBG is also involved in a number of other initiatives such as the annual Business Trends Survey undertaken on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce. YBG is keen to encourage new and young businesses through organising the Bill Green Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit and is also proud to be a founder member of the Guernsey Enterprise Agency.

The Island community is also supported through YBG’s long running commitment to assist in the coordination of the hanging of the Christmas Lights display in St Peter Port, which culminates in the big ‘switch on day’.

Guiding all these activities is a council elected annually from the membership. If you are interested in joining or simply finding out more about the group, its members and its activities, please get in contact with Wing Lai, our Membership Secretary
