What is your current job and how long have you been doing it for?
I am a Marketing and Business Development Assistant at Carey Olsen and have been there since I graduated in July 2015.
What does a typical day at the office look like for you?
Our team works with all eight of our offices and day-to-day this involves supporting on a variety of marketing initiatives. This often includes the coordination of events, production of marketing materials, issuing news releases or client updates and undertaking market research. Recently, we opened a Hong Kong office and launched a new brand so a lot of my time in the last few months has been spent on these projects.
If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do?
Presenting travel documentaries
What was your first job?
A sales assistant at Marks and Spencer’s food store – a job that served me well for 5 years.
How long have you been involved in YBG and what have you got out of being a member?
I only joined YBG in December 2016 but already finding the social aspect of the group great. I wanted to make the most of being back in Guernsey after university and find opportunities to socialise with other like-minded people on the Island.
What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?
Meeting friends at Petit Bistro for a cheese board and large glass of red wine!
Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?
Ian Hislop – his dry wit and humorous commentary on “Have I Got News for You” would make for very entertaining conversation.
Emma Watson – her work with the UN is really interesting so would like the chance to chat to her about this….oh also, to discuss Harry Potter.
Derren Brown – to tell us how he really plays with our minds!
