What is your current job and how long have you been doing it?

I’m the Business Manager for ITV Channel Television and have been in my current role for just under 2 years.

What does a typical day at the office look like for you?

Well I don’t spend much time in the office! I’m usually out and about in Guernsey or Jersey for client meetings, attending networking events and am lucky to travel to London and Manchester often for ITV events and parties – I attended the Downton Abbey premier in Leicester Square last week which was fantastic!

If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do?

That’s a tough question as everyone who knows me knows how much I love my job. I’m a counsellor in Alderney and Guernsey in my spare time so if I didn’t work with ITV I’d probably go down that route on a full time basis.

What was your first job?

My first job was a research and development assistant for the Polyisobutene Team at BP Chemicals in Grangemouth. Each year BP Chemicals selects 10 pupils from the local schools to train in the business and I was fortunate enough to be chosen.

What is your role/involvement with YBG?

I am the current YBG President and am supported by 12 Council members.

What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?

Can I say my favourite thing to do in Guernsey is to catch the boat across to Herm?! I absolutely love Herm and whether it’s nipping across for a couple of hours, spending the night in the White House or my annual long weekend trip staying in one of the cottages, I always have a great time and come back feeling refreshed.

Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?

First up would have to be a chef as I’m not famous for my culinary skills. Jamie Oliver would be my first guest as he produces idiot proof recipes that even I might be able to learn. He’s also achieved a great deal and has an interesting story to tell. The second guest would be Olivia Coleman. I think she’s a fantastic British actress and would hope I’d persuade her to tell me more about series 2 of Broadchurch. She’s also very funny so I think we’d have a laugh. And last but by no means least, Paul Nutini as we need some music.
