What is your current job and how long have you been doing it for?

My Company is Thrive Coaching & Training and I have been Training and Coaching for over 25 years now. I worked away for some time and came back to the Island in 2012.

As well as creating and running Leadership and Communication Workshops, I Coach Entrepreneurs, Leaders and Executives on their Business Vision and Goals and offer a series of Entrepreneurial Programmes and Wellness Retreats.

What does a typical day at the office look like for you? If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do

A typical day in the office? Well, I work from home so I have to be selfdisciplined and I work had to follow the principles I teach in my Time Mastery Workshops! I usually work on Programmes and admin in the mornings and arrange Coaching sessions and meetings in the afternoons. At the same time I am very flexible and work around the schedules of my Clients as much as I can. I also run Training Workshops for the GTA and the MOE Foundation.

There is really nothing else I would rather be doing as I am passionate about what I do and working with people to help them be the very best they can be! We all have innate wisdom inside us, even if we don’t realise it! And I work with people to draw this out and release their full potential.

I have had great bosses in the past who have inspired me and also a couple who were more autocratic and I enjoy working with leaders to bring out the best in their people, rather than constrain them.

What was your first job?

My first job when I left school was working for Midland Bank, as it was then!

How long have you been involved in YBG and what have you got out of being a member?

I joined YBG at the end of last year and so far, I have met some interesting gogetters and it is great to get together with likeminded people and I enjoy the speakers and events too. I look forward to meeting more people in the coming months.

What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?

My favourite thing to do in Guernsey has to be being on or near the sea! In the summer I am part of a rowing team and love to take part in races and the social life is good too! In the winter, it is great to walk on the beach and recharge my batteries.

I am also a Silver Accredited Tour Guide and in the summer, when things can be quieter on the training front, I take visitors and locals on Town walks, as well as my speciality “Walking in Renoir’s Footsteps” tour around Moulin Huet.

I also enjoy being out and about in Guernsey as we are so lucky to have great restaurants and events happening.

Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?

Richard Branson because I love to hear about his Entrepreneurial Journey and he is very down to earth too;

Michele Obama because she stands up for what she believes in and an inspiration to all; and Carolyne Gregory who was by boss in the 90’s and an inspiration to me. She believed in me

and is the reason why I am doing much of what I am doing today.
