YBG Council Members 2011/2012

Rory Inglis (President)

Rory is a Director of POS Interiors, a multi-disciplinary interior design and fit-out company, specialising in commercial (office and retail) contracting. Over the past 10 years Rory has developed a vast knowledge and understanding of the Guernsey Business scene and his interior design and project management skills support and contribute to his main responsibility of heading up business development for POS in the Channel Islands. Rory was elected President of YBG in March 2011. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf trying to maintain a single figure handicap.

Carl Stanford (Vice President)

Carl is a qualified Actuary and a Senior Manager of actuarial services within the BWCI Group.  Carl advises on a range of pension matters for Channel Islands and UK pension schemes.  He is also responsible for the development of actuarial models and actuarial training within the Group.  Carl is an active member of YBG and since joining in 2004 and has helped with many YBG events and prepares the Excel analysis of the Business Trend Survey.  Carl has held the position of YBG Secretary for 2 years and YBG Treasurer for 2 years. Carl enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.

Liz Hodder (Secretary)

Liz is a solicitor at Carey Olsen and specialises in civil litigation and insurance litigation.  Liz also advises clients on non-contentious regulatory matters, including intellectual property and data protection.

Liz qualified as a solicitor in 2007, following which she returned to the island. In her spare time Liz enjoys photography, spending time with her friends and family, and taking advantage of the outdoor activities the island has to offer.

Gwenllian Sanders (Treasurer) 

Kenny-Lee Holberry (Membership Secretary)

Kenny is a Business Sales Account Manager for Sure Cable & Wireless. Kenny advises business customers in Guernsey on all their communication needs from mobile phones to global links. He joined YBG in 2009 to meet like minded people and new connections. In his spare time Kenny enjoys playing golf and running and has a passion for football.

Gillian Mabbett (Social Secretary)

Gillian is the Corporate Account Manager for Channel Television. Splitting her time between Jersey and Guernsey, Gillian's role is to promote corporate and commercial television production to local businesses.

Gillian joined YBG in 2008 and has enjoyed the opportunity it's given her to make new business contacts in an informative and friendly environment. In her spare time Gillian enjoys running and cycling, socialising with friends and live music - attending as many concerts as possible each year.

Melissa Campbell (Council Member)

Melissa has been a Director of Situations Recruitment Agency since 2002, which deals with the placement of permanent and temporary staff at every level in the Guernsey finance and commercial sectors.  She joined YBG Council in 2009 after dressing up as Dorothy for the switch-on day parade and assisting with the lights take-down, as well as attending many lunches and several evening events, which she has very much enjoyed.  At the weekends Melissa spends time boating, swimming, going to the gym and taking long walks around the Castel lanes, as well as dining out and socialising in the evening.

Keith Wilen (Council Member)

After a number of years working in the London advertising industry, Keith returned to Guernsey and founded his own marketing consultancy called Suave Media. His business specialises in providing internet advertising for UK and local clients. As a YBG member since 2006, Keith has made many new contacts, helped with the Christmas lights and enjoyed lots of lunches. In his free time Keith loves rocking out on the drums with his band.

Stephen Rouxel (Council Member)

Stephen is a Project Manager for a leading Channel Island fund administration company Butterfield Fulcrum Group (Guernsey) Limited (BFG). Stephen joined BFG in 2008 and previously worked as a Project Manager for RBS Trustee and Depository and as a Client Relationship Manager for Anson Fund Managers Limited. Stephen currently conducts all the internal project management and new client on boarding for BFG. Stephen joined YBG in 2008 and was elected to council in 2009. He has served as a general member since then. Stephen is married with two small children and, in his spare time, enjoys acting with the both GADOC and Guernsey Youth Theatre, reading and helping with YBG.

Esther Dodd (Past President)

Esther has maintained a seat on the Young Business Group Council since 1999 and was YBG President 2009.  By day, Esther is a negotiator with local estate agency, Martel Maides.  After having recently spent eighteen months renovating a cottage, Esther is enjoying a well earned rest and is happy to pass on her wisdom to others looking to restore old properties to their former glory!  In order to unwind, Esther enjoys walking, reading, gardening and Pimm's!

Wing Lai

Wing is a Chartered Surveyor for Jones Watts Limited, a leading firm of commercial property surveyors in the Channel Islands'. Having qualified and gained invaluable experience in the UK, Wing returned to his home island of Guernsey and specialises in commercial agency, property management, rent reviews, lease renewals, lease advisory and valuations. In his spare time, Wing enjoys keeping active by going to the gym and playing a variety of sports including rugby, football and golf.
